The Nintendo company has announced the date and price for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack update. A new addition to the best Switch Online deals will premiere on October 25, 2021.
For the price, Nintendo confirmed that the individual membership for 12 months for the Expansion Plan would be priced at $ 49.99, while for the family membership for $ 79.99. This new price increases from $19.99 for standard individuals and $34.99 for a standard family membership.
But what do you get in the Expansion Plan? It will include all the perks of an essential subscription and its Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis libraries for Switch Online. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC announced today, Happy Home Paradise, also available with an Expansion Pack. (Can also be purchased separately.) Nintendo notifies Eurogamer that you will lose access to the archipelago and house requests if your subscription expires. Still, some other content is unlocked while playing Happy Home Paradise—such as counters, partition walls, and ambient lighting—will still be available.
In comparison, the standalone Sonic the Hedgehog 2 — under the SEGA AGES brand — is £5.99 alone on the UK Switch eShop, while Nintendo is selling it for £8.99 per N64 game on the Wii U eShop, as long as you only play with one or more games in the game. A year then you get your money’s worth. This version includes saving state and online games if available too.
The counterargument is that you don’t own these games, and who can withdraw them any time you like.
Like anything Nintendo has done, people will be divided on this Expansion Pack for a long time. Still, Big N disappointed its European players by allowing us to play N64 games on the US version running at the perfect speed. In contrast to the original version we got here, which is available in many languages but runs slower than before.
